Once upon a time there was rather freckled man named Kenneth. Every day Kenneth choked down a cup or two of coffee solely for the caffeine content. He even hid it in lots of creamer and sugar to make it taste better. One day, Kenneth learned of a large coffee convention within driving distance, so he decided to go. A vendor there offered him a Kenyan single-origin espresso shot. He kindly accepted and kept walking as it cooled down. He took that fateful first sip...and stopped dead in his tracks. This doesn’t even taste like coffee, Kenneth thought. He was just about cocky enough to go back to the vendor and explain to them that they must have done something wrong, because what he had in his hand didn’t taste like coffee at all...it tasted...good. Lucky for us, he didn’t turn back and embarrass himself. On the way home, he made a decision to start a specialty coffee roastery that offered the finest coffees roasted to perfection with an approachable and affable attitude – unlike the snooty ‘fancy coffee’ people he’d met in the past. He wanted everyone who’d give him a chance to taste and see how good coffee could be. He didn’t stop at just a coffee roastery. He went on to win national coffee roasting awards, host the #1 coffee podcast in the US, and even teach a coffee masterclass through the continuing studies program at Stanford University.
