HOW TO BREW

AEROPRESS

Start heating up your water. Shoot for having it stop in a range between 195 – 205 degrees or ~30 seconds off boil if you don’t have a variable temperature kettle.

(Does your water taste bad?! It can jeopardize your coffee experience! Try this.)

Measure out 32 grams of coffee or use 3 flat standard coffee scoops/ 2 tbsp scoop.

Grind coffee. If using a Baratza Encore grinder, place grind setting to 12.

Put a filter in the Aeropress and set up the brewer as shown. We usually pull the plunger out until the outer part of the brewer is flush with the back of the plunger. (Trust us, this way is much easier and safer!)

Pour the coffee in to the Aeropress and enjoy the wonderful smell while you wait on the water to be ready!!

With your water temperature somewhere between 195-205 degrees, start a timer and pour until about 1 inch from the top.

Take the back side of your Aeropress scoop and stir the coffee a couple of times in the first minute to make sure all the grounds are in contact with the water.

Bonus ninja trick: once done stirring, take your water and gently pour down the stirrer to clean it off so you don’t make a mess on the counter!

Add water as needed up to the 2-minute mark but make sure to leave room to put your filter without coffee squirting out the sides!

Place filter securely in place.

Gently flip over onto your favorite mug.

Press the plunger down from the 2:00 minute mark to the 2:30 mark. See how close you can get to it making the hissing noise right at 2:30!

Another bonus ninja trick: angle the Aeropress a little bit and, with you hands, press any extra golden morsel of coffee out. (This will prevent you dripping coffee in the counter and floor when transferring the puck to the trash!)

Over a trash can, remove the filter and push the coffee puck in to the trash.

Wash the Aeropress brewer and filter cap, store them and enjoy your coffee!!!
